Fuziah Salleh: Facing the Press
Posted February 20, 2008on:
Fuziah Salleh had exposed today the following inexcusable “uncleaned” electoral roll by SPR.
First, a person on the SPR online list was registered to be born in 1885.
As printed from the SPR online website:
Kad Pengenalan : 851118065738 / 0264520
Nama : HABSAH BT ALI
Tahun Lahir : 1885
Jantina : P
Lokaliti : 083 / 14 / 02 / 009 – MEDAN TOK SIRA
Daerah Mengundi : 083 / 14 / 02 – MEDAN TOK SIRA
DUN : 083 / 14 – TERUNTUM
Parlimen : 083 – KUANTAN
Negeri : PAHANG
Pusat Mengundi : SEKOLAH MENENGAH KEBANGSAAN TOK SIRA
Saluran : 1
Masa Mengundi : 08.00 PAGI – 05.00 PETANG
No Siri : 1
SPR hard copy electoral list sold to KeADILan Kuantan had only Habsah Bt Ali’s address as Medan Tok Sira. There was no way of discovering where she actually lived in Medan Tok Sira because SPR had deliberately taken out a column that gave the street name of her address.
Secondly, a person who had NEVER registered as a voter found his name on the electoral list when he “played” with the SPR online Electoral checking.
Thirdly, a person named with a BIN was registered as a woman, though it is clearly a “he”.
Then on another occasion, the same name appeared, registered correctly as a man.
The law that said such inappropriateness cannot be challenged after an electoral roll is gazzetted is truly against the spirit of justice and fair play in any election.
It was an utter concern that the electoral roll is not “cleaned” at all and that the risk of the roll to be different on polling day was very high as evidenced from the SPR online which at any time may be different from the hard copy sold to the party.
There was no assurance from SPR that each of the page of the hard copy sold had valid names, and not irregularities as shown above, for the 12th general Election.
Some of the press present.
